Nowadays with new inventions springing up all over the place, it is becoming more and more rare that an invention has the ability to truly change lives. What is this invention? Well Maury Povich won’t like the effect it may have on his ratings because paternity tests are now available over the counter.

The Identigene kit includes swabs for collecting cell samples from the inside of the cheeks of the child and the alleged father. Collection of the mother’s cells is optional, but strongly recommended to strengthen the results. The swabs are then packaged and mailed to the Sorenson laboratory in Salt Lake City where they’re analyzed.

No prescription is needed. The kits can be found at CVS and Rite Aid stores. The kit is only $29.99. But with a laboratory processing fee of $119, the total is approximately $150.
